The Macalester Scots are one of three MIAC men's track teams to receive team academic honors by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Macalester College was the top ranked MIAC team with a 3.310 cumulative team GPA. A total of 56 Division III programs made up the men's 2008 All-Academic Teams. Haverford College led all institutions with a 3.461 team cumulative GPA, followed by Carnegie Mellon with a 3.40 team GPA. Pomona-Pitzer Colleges achieved the third-highest team GPA with 3.391.

To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 cumulative grade-point average.
