Godwin selected to NCAA advisory committee

Macalester volleyball player Marie Godwin (Jr., Chaska, Minn.) has been selected as the Midwest Region representative to the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She will represent the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference on the national SAAC.
There are 22 members on this panel representing about 150,000 student-athletes.
A two-year starter on the Mac volleyball team, Godwin is the president of the Macalester SAAC after serving as secretary in 2007-08.
The NCAA Division III SAAC convenes at different locations in the country, three times a year, and Godwin will serve a three-year term which expires May 2011. Each national divisional committee is comprised of both female and male student-athletes charged with the responsibility of assisting in the review of NCAA proposed legislation and representing the voice of the student-athlete in the NCAA governance structure. This is accomplished by providing student-athlete input on issues related to student-athlete welfare that are division-specific."
