Macalester vs. Hamline box score
Macalester returned to the .500 level in the MIAC by sweeping Hamline 9-0 at the Lakeville Tennis Center. The Scots took all matches in straight sets and improve to 5-6 on the season and 2-2 in MIAC play.
At the top of the singles lineup, the Scots received a 6-0, 6-3 win from
Brad Goldstein (Sr., Tucson, Ariz. / Catalina Foothills) and a quick 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 2 by
Aaron Heerboth (Sr., Tucson, Ariz. / Catalina Foothills).
In the middle of the lineup,
Charlie Edelman (Jr., Tucson, Ariz. / University) won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 and at No. 4,
Paul Mariet (Fy., Rochester, Minn. / Century) won 6-2, 6-3. And at the bottom of the lineup, Justin Margolies (Fy., Madison, Wis. / West) took a 6-2, 7-5 match at No. 5 and
Michael Coleman (Fy., Westlake Village, Calif. / Agoura) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
Heerboth and Goldstein claimed an 8-0 shutout at first doubles, Coleman and Maret won 8-1 at second doubles, and at No. 3 doubles, Edelman and
Titus Levy (So., New York, N.Y. / Fieldston School) took an 8-5 decision.
The Scots play a non-conference match Thursday (April 3) at Northwestern-Roseville and return to conference competition Saturday (April 5) at St. Thomas.
