Trina PaStarr (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Southwest) has been named this season's first MIAC women's basketball
Player of the Week. An All-MIAC forward, PaStarr turned in 18-point efforts to lead Macalester to double-digit MIAC wins over St. Mary's and Hamline as the Scots improve to 4-1 on the season.
PaStarr contributed 18 points, 10 rebounds and a couple blocked shots in a 65-50 win over St. Mary's Wednesday, and in Saturday's 72-62 triumph over Hamline, finished with 18 points, 13 boards, five blocks and three steals. She was charged with just one turnover in 62 minutes of floor time.
PaStarr and the Scots are off to a 4-1, the program's best since 1995-96.
She is the fourth member of the Macalester junior class to have received MIAC player of the week honors, joining
Danielle Johnson (DeForest, Wis. / Madison Edgewood),
Alyssa Lunde (Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) and
Ann Baltzer (Bismarck, N.D.).
