Macalester received 18 points off the bench from
Jackson Wright (Fy., Spicer, Minn. / New London-Spicer), who went 4-for-8 on three-pointers in just 22 minutes of play.
James Murrey (Jr., Western Springs, Ill. / Lyons Township) added 10 points off the bench. Wright and Murrey combined to go 12-for-20 from the field.
The Scots received eight rebounds apiece from
Jerry Kraus (Jr., Bucharest, Romania / Chaparral (Colo.)) and
Tyson Morgan (Sr., Lewiston, Me.). Morgan grabbed his eight boards in just 10 minutes of action. Kraus handed out three assists.
Buena Vista forced 29 turnovers and owned a dominating 47-11 advantage in points off turnovers. Jeff Janssen scored 18 points and Brian Fogleman added 17.
Leading 12-9 after seven minutes of play, the Beavers went on a 14-2 run to go up 26-11. The Scots never got close after that.
Macalester opens MIAC play Wednesday (Dec. 3) when it plays St. Mary's in Winona.
