Russ Schouweiler is in his third year on the Macalester staff after joining the Scots before the 2008 season. Coach Schouweiler is a Luther College (Ia.) graduate and four-year varsity soccer player for the Norse. He helped Luther win a pair of Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles. He was head coach for three years at Simley High School in the St. Paul area and one year at Decorah (Ia.) High School, where his team placed fourth in the state playoffs.
Schouweiler is also a senior coach for the St. Croix Soccer Club and is a professional referee. He has an NSCAA Premier Diploma, certificates from the Football Association of England in Fitness and Psychology. He also has licensure from the United States Soccer Federation. Schouweiler recently finished up his graduate work with a Masters Degree in Athletics and Activities Administration from the University of St. Thomas.
