An outstanding lineman for the Scots, Hultgren helped the Scots go 4-1-3 as a sophomore, 5-1-1 as a junior and 5-3 as a senior.
He went on to become a very successful amateur golfer, winning many tournaments and three club championships at his home course, Tri-City Country Club in Washington.
After graduating in 1942, Hultgren joined DuPont Chemical and soon transferred with the company to its atomic energy field. His career at the Hanford Atomic Energy Plant has included positions as Health Physicist, Project Engineer, Operations Supervisor and Staff Planner.
