Grace Fleming led the way for Macalester by winning a pair of events, the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.62) and 100-yard backstroke (2:03.90). The Scots improve to 3-1 in dual meets on the young season and are 2-1 in MIAC competitions. The event was in honor of former Carleton College student and athlete Edward H. &ldquo;Ted&rdquo; Mullin, who passed away from sarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer, in 2006.   The event is a one-hour, all-out, leave-it-in-the-pool practice that was staged simultaneously at numerous pools across the country. The Scots defeated Concordia by a score of 88 &frac12; to 55 &frac12;, but was out-scored by St. Thomas 96-41. Six different Scots earned first-place finishes, including a pair of wins each by Clare Eder and Karoline Hart. Eder won the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.33) and also took first in the 200 back (2:21.23). Flanagan earned an 11-dive preliminary round score of 384.95 to earn her 11th place finish. Flanagan, Macalester&rsquo;s record-setting diver on both boards, will finish her career Friday in the 1-meter competition.
