The Scots shot 47% from the floor, including 9-for-21 on three-pointers, and received points from 12 different players.  Colin Keely posted a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, to lead the way for Macalester. Both men are also biology majors&mdash;and friends&mdash;who have done cutting-edge research in molecular genetics.  Their research involves identifying species by sequencing the DNA, long bits of four-letter genetic code. Using DNA sequences rather than morphology (form and structure) to describe species is called DNA barcoding. Mette was a member of a Keck Geology Consortium field excursion that took several professors and a dozen students to a remote section of southwestern Mongolia to study fossils and rocks in the Gobi-Altai area. Jeff Yamashita led the way for the Scots by winning the 50-yard freestyle (22.91) and 100-yard butterfly (55.14).
