James had another strong season on the mound earning all region honors for the first time, and all-conference honors for the second time . . . He led the Scots in virtually every pitching category: wins (7), starts (9), complete games (1), saves (1), innings (55), strikeouts (60) and batting average against (.216) . . . Murrey had career high strikeout performances (11) vs. conference opponents St. Mary’s on 4-5-08 and Concordia on 4-15-08 . . . Team voted him MVP as well as MVP Pitcher for the ’08 season. James was also selected a captain for the ’08 season . . . During his freshman year he led staff in wins (6), ERA (2.77), innings (62.1), strike outs (62), appearances (13), starts (9) and complete games (4) . . . Picked-up first collegiate win vs. Monmouth College on 3-10-07 . . . Season high nine strikeouts in win vs. Carleton on 4-21-07 . . . James comes to Macalester from Western Springs, IL and attended Lyons Township HS . . .His HS team qualified for the Illinois State Tournament during his senior year . . . James posted a 4-2 record with five saves for that team.
