Macalester vs. St. Catherine box score

St. Catherine moved closer to winning the MIAC championship outright, clinching a tie for the conference regular-season title, by defeating Macalester 9-0 Wednesday night at the Lifetime Fitness Tennis Center in Lakeville.

The Scots drop to 2-11 on the '13 season and 0-6 in the MIAC, while the first-place Wildcats move forward to 14-1 overall, 9-0 in the MIAC.

Macalester's best match was at No. 1 doubles, where Paige Schaefer (Sr., Madison, Wis. / East) and Carmen Whitehead  (Jr., Greeley, Colo. / West) lost a competitive 8-5 decision.

The Scots return to action tomorrow at Hayden Courts against St. Olaf at 4:45 p.m.  Mac hosts St. Mary's Saturday (April 27) at 12:30 p.m. and Concordia-Moorhead Sunday (April 28) at 11 a.m.
