Complete St. John's University Invitational results
Macalester stood in eighth place out of 20 teams after Saturday's opening round with a 317 team score, but fell to 14th after the second day of play at the St. John's Fall Invitational. The Scots shot a 328 Sunday to finish with a 645 team score. Host St. John's won the tournament with a 596 for top honors over UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout.
The opening round was held at Greystone in Sauk Centre and play moved to Blackberry Ridge in Sartell on Day 2.
There were 109 players in this highly-competitive tournament and three Scots tied for 50th place with 36-hole totals of 161.
Dan Allen (So., Orland Park, Ill. / Carl Sandberg) shots rounds of 79 and 82,
Ben Langworthy (Jr., Tucson, Ariz. / Tucon Magnet School) finished with scorecards of 78 and 83, and
Nick Santrach (Jr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) shot rounds of 80 and 81. Right behind this trio was
Ryan Peters (Sr., Kohler, Wis.) with a 162 (80-82).
Macalester plays next Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 26-27) at the St. Olaf Invitational at the Summit in Northfield.
