Complete Mac vs. SMU results

The women's golf team got Macalester's fall sports season off to a good start Tuesday afternoon when it toppled MIAC rival St. Mary's 388-393 at Mississippi National Golf Club in Red Wing.

Macalester had two of the top four finishes enjoyed superior depth at the bottom of the lineup to pull out the five-stroke decision. The Scots were led by Ellen Bubak (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D. / Lincoln), who shot an 88 on the par-71, 5450-yard course. Grace Caird (Fy., Shorewood, Wis.) also golfed well in her collegiate debut, placing fourth with a 91 tally.

SMU's Katelyn Rizzi won medalist honors with a mark of 84.

Macalester has another dual this week against a conference rival when he hosts Bethel on Thursday (Sept. 3) at 1:30 down the block at Highland National Golf Course.
