Complete Academic All-MIAC team
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its 2009 Winter / Spring Academic All-Conference honorees today and 19 Macalester winter and spring sport athletes have earned this distinction. The conference recognized 407 student-athletes who represented the MIAC’s thirteen institutions. These 19 join 22 fall sport athletes to earn Academic All-MIAC status, giving Macalester a total of 41 for the 2008-09 school term.
Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for MIAC Academic All-Conference recognition. Athletically, student-athletes in basketball, softball, baseball and tennis must compete in 50% of their team’s varsity regular season contests. Athletes in swimming & diving must qualify for the finals, while track & field athletes must earn honorable mention conference honors or place in the top three of a relay.
