The All-MIAC women's tennis team
For the second year in a row, Macalester's
Angie Horner (Sr., Bismarck, N.D. / Century),
Stephanie Lee (Jr., Camarillo, Calif. / Oaks Christian) and
Amanda Wenzel (Jr., Green Bay, Wis. / Southwest) have earned All-MIAC honors.
These three combined to go 43-11 at the top of the singles lineup, including 22-8 in league play. Horner finished at 8-2 at No. 1 singles in the MIAC (16-2 overall); Lee went 6-4 at No. 2 (13-5 overall); and Wenzel finished 8-2 at No. 3 (14-4 overall). This trio has combined to go 47-13 at first, second and third singles against MIAC rivals over the past two years and their combined overall marks in two seasons is a terrific 90-21.
The doubles team of Lee and Horner also gets an all-conference certificate for the second year in a row. They joined forces to go 7-3 at No. 1 doubles in the MIAC and 13-5 overall.
As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC announced the third annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for men's tennis. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition. Horner was selected as Macalester's representative.
