Macalester held its annual post-season banquet recently and announced the winners of the major team awards.

Ali Nystrom (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) was selected by her teammates as Macalester's Most Valuable Player. A second baseman and outfielder, Nystrom batted in the leadoff spot for the Scots and led the team with 27 runs scored. She batted .315 (39-for-124) with four doubles, two triples and one homer while playing outstanding defense.

The team's Rookie of the Year award went to outfielder Chloe Souza (Fy., Los Angeles, Calif. / Windward). The Senior Award winner is first baseman Kate Ziegler (Sr., Oak Park, Ill. / Oak Park-River Forest) and the Most Improved Player award goes to outfielder Natalie Clifford (Fy., Woodbury, Minn. / Trinity).

Pitcher / second baseman Olivia Abbott (Jr., Lakewood, Colo. / Green Mountain) received her All-MIAC and MIAC All-Sportsmanship team awards.
