Macalester has been selected as an at-large team to the 63-team NCAA Division III women's soccer championship playoffs and will be the host site for matches Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 14-15). Macalester, the MIAC playoff runners-up, will come into nationals with a 13-5-2 record and will host the
College of St. Scholastica (17-3-2) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.. Also playing that day at Macalester Stadium will be
Concordia-Moorhead (16-0-2) and
Dubuque (15-5-1) at 5 p.m.
Ticket prices are $6 for adults, $3 for students, $3 for senior citizens and $2 for children 3-12.
The is Macalester's 14th trip to the NCAA playoffs under head coach John Leaney, who is retiring from coaching following the season. The Scots are 18-10-3 all-time in the national playoffs (the three ties went to penalty kick shootouts). St. Scholastica and Concordia are making their third appearances, and Dubuque earned its first NCAA berth.
