Complete Central Region Championship results

Erin Lowrey (Sr., Whitefish Bay, Wis.) and Tara McCoy (Jr., Menomonie, Wis.) placed 33rd and 34th, respectively, to lead Macalester to an 11th-place finish out of 26 teams at the NCAA Division III Central Region championships at Grinnell, Ia. Lowrey crossed the finish line of the 6000-meter race in 23:08.2 and McCoy finished in 25:10.9. Both ran to all-region finishes.  Both are All-Central Region performers.

Lowrey, a four-time all-conference runner, becomes Macalester's first four-time all-region performer since Julia Kirtland (1983-86).

Carleton edged Nebraska Wesleyan for the region team championship, while Bethel's Marie Borner easily won top individual honors.

Macalester's third, fourth and fifth runners finished the race in the top half of this 183-runner field. Lena Sessions (Sr., Eugene, Ore. / South Eugene) placed 68th (23:58.7), Tess Carley (Fy., Cumberland, Me. / Greely) finished 71st (24:01.6) and Libby Tollefson (Jr., Billings, Mont.) was 76th (24:07.2).
