Gustavus Adolphus ITA Midwest Region Championship web site with complete results
Macalester sent five individuals and two doubles teams to the highly-competitive Wilson/ITA men's Division III Midwest Region championships at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
The event featured 26 of the top small college men's tennis programs in the region. There were about 175 of the top singles and doubles players in the Midwest participating.
A pair of Macalester singles player earned first round wins to advance to the round of 64.
Max Edwards (Fy., Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) defeated Matt Lubeck of St. Norbert (Wis.) 7-5, 6-1, and
Titus Levy (Sr., New York, N.Y. / Fieldston School) beat Cooper Smith of Lawrence (Wis.) 6-1, 6-0.
Edwards and
Michael Coleman (Jr., Westlake Village, Calif. / Agoura) lost an 8-6 battle in doubles play to a pair from Luther (Ia.).
This was the team's lone competition of the short fall campaign. The winter / spring season gets going with a match Feb. 6 against Northwestern-Roseville.
