Complete St. Catherine Invitational results
Macalester placed third of five teams on a cold Saturday morning at the St. Catherine University Invitational.
Tara McCoy (Jr., Menomonie, Wis.) led the way for the Scots on this 4-kilometer race on the nearby St. Kate's campus, placing fourth out of 73 runners with a 15:02.7 time.
Luther (Ia.), with seven of the top 11 finishers, took the team title with a 32 score, while Hamline (57) edged Macalester (62) for third. Hamline's Margot Branigan was first across the finish line (14:34.3).
Mac's second through fourth runners placed in the top 15.
Tess Carley (Fy., Cumberland, Me. / Greely) placed 12th (15:44.5),
Libby Tollefson (Jr., Billings, Mont.) was 13th (15:47.5) and
Anna Hankins (Sr., Mansfield Center, Conn. / Edwin O. Smith) finished 14th (15:50.09). The team's No. 5 runner was
Lena Sessions (Sr., Eugene, Ore. / South Eugene), who placed 19th (16:01.1).
The Scots are back in action next Saturday (Oct. 17) at the very-competitive Wisconsin-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational.
