Spring season winds down at MIAC meet

The Scots closed out their spring outdoor campaign Friday and Saturday at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) championships at Hamline University.

Tara McCoy (Fy., Menomonie, Wis.) and Raven Parsons (Sr., Jamaica, N.Y. / Phillips Exeter) earned eighth-place finishes in their respective finals to lead the way for Macalester.

McCoy was one of six frosh to reach the 800-meter run finals and finished eighth (2:23.10), while Parsons placed eighth in the hammer throw (127-4 / 38.81m). Parson's top throw came on her second attempt of the first round.

Mac's 4x100 team turned in a 51.87 time in the prelims behind the sprints of sprints of Celeste Prince (So., Lakewood, Colo.), Maddie Mette (So., Burnsville, Minn.), Mari Mejia (Fy., Golden Valley, Minn. / St. Louis Park) and Emily Matthews (So., Fort Collins, Colo.).
