Macalester vs. St. Benedict box score
Macalester beat visiting St. Benedict 7-2 Saturday morning to wrap up its best regular-season in history and clinch the No. 3 or No. 2 seed in next weekend's MIAC playoffs in St. Peter. The Scots finish the regular season at 14-4 overall and 8-2 in the MIAC – both all-time bests for the program.

Unless league power Gustavus is upset three times in three upcoming matches, the Scots will be the third-seed team and will play an MIAC quarter-final match Friday (April 25) against the sixth-seeded team. Gustavus and St. Thomas have already clinched berths in the six-team tourney and will be the top-two seeded teams.

Lee and Horner finished the regular-season with a 16-2 doubles record by winning again at No. 1, while Peschel and
Becky Schneider (Jr., Larchmont, N.Y. / Mamaroneck) won at No. 2 to boost their doubles record to 11-4.
