Six Macalester Scots have achieved national academic honors by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC), and as a team, the Scots achieved the nation's fifth-best collective grade point average (gpa). This is the second year in a row Macalester has been in the top-five after ranking No. 1 a year ago.  During the 2008-09 academic year, Macalester water polo team members combined to post a GPA of 3.28. That was topped by only four teams nationally: Chapman (3.42), Washington & Jefferson (3.36), Brown (3.35) and Colorado College (3.31).
