Hart & Fleming combine for five wins at Macalester Invite

The Scots hosted the Macalester Invitational Friday night and all day Saturday and placed third out of five teams as Karoline Hart and Grace Fleming combined for five first-place efforts to lead the way. Hart won the three breaststroke finals – winning at 50 yards (31.55), 100 yards (1:10.74) and 200 yards (2:33.64). Fleming came out on top in the two marathon races, placing first in the 1650-yard freestyle (18:24.51) and 500 free (5:19.40).

The Scots are hosting the Macalester Invitational Friday and Saturday (Dec. 4-5) at the Riley Pool in the Leonard Center. Participating teams, in addition to the Scots, are Augsburg, St. Catherine, St. Benedict, St. John's and Concordia-Moorhead (divers only) . Competition gets going Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday's event begin at 10 a.m. Meet website

Three Scots win events at St. Kate’s Invite

01.23 | Women's Swimming & Diving

Macalester placed fourth out of eight teams Saturday at the St. Catherine Invitational, receiving first-place efforts from three swimmers. Hillary Frey won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:38.22), Karoline Hart took first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.23) and Grace Fleming placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:03.24).

Scots have strong showing at Grinnell Invitational

01.16 | Women's Swimming & Diving

Macalester placed fourth out of 10 teams Friday and Saturday at the Grinnell (Ia.) Invitational. Karoline Hart swam to first and second place finishes to lead the way, and Grace Fleming added two runner-up finishes and a third. TheScots edged Augustana (Ill.) by one point for the fourth spot. Luther (Ia.) beat Grinnell for the team title, while Knox (Ill.) edged Macalester for third.
