Scots wrap up fall season at regionals

11.14 | Women's Cross Country

Erin Lowrey and Tara McCoy placed 33rd and 34th, respectively, to lead Macalester to an 11th-place finish out of 26 teams at the NCAA Division III Central Region championships at Grinnell, Ia. Lowrey crossed the finish line of the 6000-meter race in 23:08.2 and McCoy finished in 25:10.9. Both ran to all-region finishes.

Lowrey, McCoy lead Scots at MIAC championships

10.31 | Women's Cross Country

Erin Lowrey became Macalester’s first four-time all-conference runner in over 20 years when she placed seventh overall, leading Macalester to an eighth-place finish at the MIAC championships. Lowrey placed seventh with a 23:04.5 time on the 6-kilometer course, while teammate Tara McCoy just missed all-conference honors by one position, placing 16 in this field of 229 runners with a mark of 23:47.4.

MIAC Championships are Saturday at Como Park

10.27 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country

The highlight of the cross country season is the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) championships, scheduled for this Saturday (Oct. 31) at Como Park Golf Course in St. Paul. The women’s race is scheduled for 2:15 p.m., while the men will run at 3:15 p.m. Admission is free. Each Macalester team is led by returning All-MIAC runners: Erin Lowrey for the women and Wade Ekstrom for the men.

Scots have final prep for conference meet

10.17 | Women's Cross Country

Macalester placed 16th out of 27 teams at the Wisconsin-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational, one of the biggest and competitive races in the Midwest and the team’s final prep for the Oct. 31 MIAC championships. Erin Lowrey placed 33rd in this giant field of 448 runners, completing the 6-kilometer course in 22:50.6 to lead the way for the Scots. Tara McCoy placed 97th (23:47.4) and the team’s No. 3 runner was Tess Carley, who was 112th (23:57.5).
