Twenty-five Scots earn fall sport Academic All-MIAC recognition

Twenty-five Macalester fall sport student-athletes have earned Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Academic All-Conference honors, as announced by the conference office today. The MIAC recognized 302 student-athletes who represented the conference’s thirteen institutions. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for MIAC Academic All-Conference recognition.

Ekstrom places 52nd at nationals

Wade Ekstrom made his final collegiate cross country race a good one, placing 52nd out of 276 runners at the NCAA Division III championships in Cleveland. Ekstrom was fifth fastest among all MIAC harriers. Ekstrom, who placed fifth at the MIAC meet and 10th at the Central Regionals, completed the 8000-meter race at the Highland Park Golf Course in 26:24.6

Macalester runs at region meet; Ekstrom advances to nationals

11.14 | Men's Cross Country

Macalester ran in the 25-team NCAA Division III Central Region championships at Grinnell, Ia., and placed 15th. Wade Ekstrom qualified for next weekend’s NCAA championships in Cleveland by placing 10th overall out of 173 runner, completing the 8-kilometer course at Oakland Acres Golf Course in 25:20.1. Ten of the top 11 finishers were from the MIAC.
