Macalester produced one of its top performances of the season in a game which was up for graps at the end, but Augsburg held on for a 71-68 thriller over the Scots in Minneapolis. The final six minutes were close as the Augsburg lead was at four points or less the rest of the way, including just one point with :54 to play before the hosts put it away with a pair of free throws.  Pierce Peters finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and a couple steals to lead the Macalester effort.

Gustavus Adolphus turned the ball over just six times, held the Scots to 26% shooting in the first half, and held off a strong Macalester comeback to defeat the Scots 63-44 in St. Peter to keep its hold on second place in the MIAC standings. The Scots kept their fight and spirit after a very difficult first half,  and put together a 16-2 scoring run early in the second period to battle back to within four points at 39-35 with 14:28 remaining.

The Scots played a strong first half and were tied with St. John’s 40-40 at the break Monday night at the Leonard Center, but their bid for victory came up short when third-place St. John’s held Macalester down in the second period and went on for an 81-63 decision over the upset-minded home team.  Four Scots reached double digits in scoring, led by 14 points in 19 minutes off the bench by Colin Jarvis, who nailed 4-of-7 from behind the three-point arc.
