Evan Mitchell won his third javelin throw title to lead the way for Macalester Friday and Saturday at the MIAC championships at Hamline University. Mitchell got the meet off to a great start for the Scots, winning the first event of the day Friday afternoon. Mitchell needed just one throw to clinch first place as he tossed the javelin an all-time best 59.13 meters (194-0) on his first attempt in his preliminary round. No competitor the rest of the day got to within 19 feet of that mark.
